SV polltime...

Mar 31, 2008 22:54

By the way, I limited this poll just to the writers (and episodes they've written) from season five onward. Also, I only put those who've written 2 episodes or more.

I don't actually think Souders & Peterson are the worst writers, but they are my least favorite for Promise alone, and for what they said about Clark and Lana in the S6 companion book.

I miss Jeph Loeb's influence the most, although he only actually wrote a handful of episodes. I wish Doris Egan had never left back in S1. And although I loved SDK, I wouldn't want him back because I don't think he was happy at the show for a long time before he left.

I loved "Hidden", but they are just way too iffy for me.

I liked Jeph Loeb as well. Oh, and I felt the same about DeKnight. Especially since "Prototype" was his final episode.

Mark Verhieden I think was the major blow to the writing team. Followed up by Greb Beeman who was producing and Mark Warshaw that kept continuity inline like a crazy man.

Every time one of those left you could feel the tone of the show drop off and it's SAD SAD SAD. :(

Verhieden was so awesome. I loved the episode he wrote so much.

Everytime I think about Beeman and Warshaw leaving, it just makes me sad. Like you said, you could actually see and feel the effects of them leaving the show.

That's pretty much exactly how I feel. :)

I went strictly by epsisodes and S&P are up there for favourites. Not second, but possibly third.

S&P are really hit and miss for me. Personally, I think they've gone down in the past season.

I wish Jeph Loeb would come back. He was the one person on the writing staff who truly seemed to love Clark Kent. I've never had that impression with any of the other writers.

I also wish Beeman would come back. I think he was your visual God. Once he left, I've been a lot more dubious over the supposed symbolism of colors/outfits/props. I think that was Beeman's obsession, and I think it went with him.

I forgot about Jeph Loeb. Yes, he really did seem to love the character of Clark Kent, which is sorely needed as of now.

Beeman was one of my favorite people involved with the show. It's such a shame that SV couldn't keep him.
