Smallville, a season 9, really?

Maybe if "Doomsday" hadn't been so horrible to epic proportions, I might feel differently. However, I have to say that I'm not really feeling too sympathetic over "Smallville" being moved to Friday nights. Honestly, I believe it's the CW's passive-aggressive way of saying that they are done with the show, IMO. And you know your show has gone on too ( Read more... )

This show should've ended with season five, but if I'm being generous, it should've definitely ended with season seven.

Agree, though I have to think s8 with Almiles at the helm would have been a way different ender.

Part of the reason I started watching this show is because I couldn't wait for the day when both men would be standing side by side, finally at their respective destinies. When Michael Rosenbaum announced that he wouldn't renew his contract passed season seven, preparations should've been made to end the show that season.

Yes. Almiles had only wanted to go through s7 anyway (though I do wonder if they would have gotten MR back or not. Al Gough has a reputation of talking people in to things.)

But you know what? This show isn't like a procedural where the characters don't necessarily matter as much as the general plot of the episode does. This is "Smallville" we're talking about. Of course it makes a difference whether or not the characters who started their journeys along with Clark are still there when the show ( ... )

I'm beginning to think AlMiles wouldn't have been so bad considering what we've gotten in s8 from Souders and Peterson.

Seven seasons was just fine. Origin stories, I thought, weren't supposed to go on for so long.

//WORD!!!! God, if people don't come back for the series finale, it will just be heart breaking.//

Even if it's through flashbacks, I have to have everyone back for the series finale.

It's sad when you're actually anxious for a show you used to be so excited for to be canceled.

Word! The wasted potential makes me furious when I was always so looking forward to the final episode seeing Clark head off to Metropolis/flying for the first time, alongside Lex taking steps towards his future. And everyone's all oh but season 8 was still fun with the Clois comedy or whatever, but it should have been epic if the show had concluded at season 5/6 time. I mean I do it too, I make the most of what we did get and enjoyed season 8 for what it was, but really it's a real waste of the finale episode we should have had with TW, MR, KK, and AM

You'd think they would have at the very least called it a day when they lost most of the cast.
