Living the life we want

R and I have recently bought an apartment we really like and intend to move in together some time in July, exactly one year since we first met. He asked me ( Read more... )

Hi dears. And you didn't tell me! Hmmmph.

Faced the same issue when Yang and I got the place. It was rather complicated and people started telling me it was a bad idea. It will be a real mess if we do not work out. But then maybe that is the point - that you love enough to risk the possibility of the mess. Perhaps that is what faith is about.

Sometimes it is difficult to be exactly on the same page with one another but we must communicate. And then we need also to accept that as things evolve THINGS EVOLVE - did not anticipate Yang going off to NY though it was always there at the back of our minds. It brought tremendous stresses but we walked through it.

Glad you did this. If the community will not build up this critical mass and be open about it the community will never grow. And we will each be the poorer for it.

I remember very clearly you once told me the arrangement you have with Yang for 40 Zion Rd. It never left my mind. When the opportunity arose with R, that was the first thing I proposed and he agreed. So you started the ball rolling.

Sorry dear for not telling you sooner. I am kind of a private person and only decided to tell some of the GV people when Jaime asked R.

Do come for a swim when the place is ready. I have never seen you in speedo. Hehe..

After staying in the US, I found it strange when I heard a few Singaporean friends buying property separately even they are in a relationship for a few years. I wondered why they are not buying it together.

In fact, the social-cultural influence here is making me regressive.

I wondered why someone in Singapore has to emphasis to me that there is an age difference of only 10 years when one of my closest US couple-friends have an age difference of 20 years!

There are too much restrictions in our mindset here.

Reading your entry reminds me of what cszhou once told me. He said if I enter into a relationship thinking that it will not work or it won't last, then I would have already jeopardise the relationship already. My negativity will be manifested unconsciously as the relationship proceeds and it will eventually put a strain on it. So I'm glad the 2 of you are looking on the positive side. Continue to do that and God Bless.
