Subject: iPod Shuffle Drabble Challenge
Pairings: Various pairings from SHINee, Super Junior, UKISS, Big Bang, Boyfriend, and Infinite
Genres: Mix of Fluff, Angst, Romance
1. Onew/Key - Love Pain (SHINee); WC: 183
Onew is happy. He gets sick, he gets tired, but he's happy where he is. But that’s Onew.
Jinki is broken. He tries so hard to piece the broken pieces of himself everyday, but it just gets shattered, over and over and over again. But he relishes it; if it means he can spend time with him, then he’ll die trying.
Key is pretty. He attracts both guys and girls, and Onew is no exception. Outside, Onew is all smiles, and Key is oblivious to their leader’s real state. So he laughs, the jingle of his laughter the most beautiful music to Onew (Jinki)’s ears.
Kibum is beautiful. He puts so much hope in Jinki’s whole being, puts the light in his eyes. Jinki believes he’s why his heart continues to beat each day. But the angel Kibum is also his downfall, because the creature Jinki loves so much has given his heart away to another.
And so Jinki’s heart continues to beat and break each day. But Onew is happy, and that’s what Key sees, and that’s all that matters to Jinki.
2. Minho/Taemin - Wake Up (SNSD); WC: 141
Minho grins devilishly at the half-covered body of a sleeping Taemin. The maknae’s trousers are all wrinkled, and his feet are slightly moving and twitching. Minho presses a cold palm lightly against Taemin’s exposed ankle, making the younger boy unconsciously shiver. He places an arm near Taemin’s face and brings his lips close to the other boy’s. Taemin feels Minho’s warm breath on his face, and wakes up with a start, heartbeat racing. Minho’s handsome face is centimeters away from his, and Taemin starts to blush furiously. The rapper closes his eyes and leans in, and the maknae shuts his own and waits for that soft press of lips-
“It’s time to wake up, Taemin-ah,” Minho says with a smirk on his lips before distancing himself away and laughing loudly out the room, leaving a very flustered Taemin on the bed.
3. Kyuhyun/Sungmin - Romeo + Juliette (SHINee); WC: 216
Sungmin sighs as he reads a translated copy of Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliette. Oh, the life of romance he wished for; a charming young man armed with a sword and shield to protect him from all the bullies of the world. But no, he gets stuck with a computer geek who gets afraid at even the possibility of a mouse creeping along the walls of their shared room. Sungmin winces inwardly.
Sungmin is about to sigh again when the group’s maknae pops into the room and quickly spots the reading material Sungmin is holding. He knows what Sungmin wants; he’s more attentive than he’s given credit for. Though it isn’t obvious, Kyuhyun tries to make up for his lack of toughness.
“Hyung, go ahead, ask me,” Kyuhyun says as he looks at Sungmin with a set look in his eyes. A challenge.
“Ask you what?”
“Say that famous line from that play.”
“What? I don’t… This? Fine. Kyu-meo, oh Kyu-meo, where art thou, Kyu-meo?”
“I’m in your heart, right, Minnie-ette?”
Sungmin hits Kyuhyun’s shoulder with a slight smirk and more of a smile playing on his lips. Pabo, you are so not dramatic, and you cut it too short. Sungmin thinks, however, that he would take this cheesy nerd over any old-fashioned guy any day.
4. Eunhyuk/Donghae - Love (f(x)); WC: 138
Donghae starts dancing to random SNSD songs around their dorm one day, slipping from shy girl to perky cheerleader to fierce cowgirl. He’s jumping all over the tiles in the dorm, but no one notices him; it’s become too common an occurrence. A certain anchovy is watching as if it’s the most interesting thing in the world however. Which it probably is, to him.
Eunhyuk suddenly grabs Donghae’s hand and starts twirling the younger boy in circles, earning loud squeals from the other. As Donghae teeters, losing his balance, he falls in to Eunhyuk’s arms, and the older boy smiles his signature gummy smile. Eunhyuk leans in to peck Donghae’s lips lightly.
“I love you,” anchovy says, and the fish just has to grin. He decides he’ll dance to girl group songs in their dorms more often now.
5. Kiseop/Kevin - Honey (SNSD); WC: 154
Kiseop is humming a soft melody quietly to himself, willing his brain to resist any kind of activity for a bit, allowing his eyelids to droop. But the sheep jumping over the fence only awaken him further, and Kiseop is troubled. He needs his beauty sleep to preserve his ulzzang features.
He shakes an already slumbering Kevin lightly, murmuring that he can’t sleep. Though Kevin is partly still in dreamland and certainly does not like being disturbed, he could never get mad at Kiseop’s pouting lips and wide eyes.
Kevin-ah, please sing me to sleep. And so Kevin does, honey-coated voice pouring over the meaningful lyrics of his love song. Kiseop cuddles up next to the younger boy and drifts away. Kevin smiles drowsily before finishing the last note of his song. I’m perfect for you, Kevin sings (and thinks) before leaning his forehead against the slightly-snoring Kiseop and floating away to join him.
6. TOP/Daesung - Wowowow (SHINee); WC: 114
TOP thinks the boy he sees is breathtaking.
Yes, his teeth are crooked, and his eyes are small, and his nose is too big, but his smile, so angelic and beautiful and perfect, raises TOP’s heartbeat to a million miles per second and makes him forget everything that isn’t this being with wings in front of him.
He’s wishing so badly for Daesung to be his, because every day is always lit up with his smile, and he wants that all to himself. He’s selfish, he thinks, but he’d gladly be that way if it means Daesung would love him.
TOP waits nervously for him one day, confession on the tip of his tongue, and a happy ending just around the corner.
7. G-Dragon/Seungri - Into the New World (SNSD); WC: 183
Seungri thinks that maybe he doesn’t deserve to be where he is now. He thinks that Hyunseung should have been in his place, because he doesn’t miss the look some fans give him during his performances. He thinks Big Bang would have been better off with a So-1 rather than a Seungri. You don’t belong, you’re not supposed to be here, they seem to be silently screaming. Seungri thinks until his mind explodes.
Warm arms wrap around his shoulders in a few minutes though and a smiling Jiyong is gazing at him. Jiyong lightly traces the eyebags (which have always been there) of his panda bear and worries about how the maknae may be losing sleep. Seungri crinkles his eyes and thinks that maybe fate brought them together. Maybe fate is trying to tell him that he belongs, again and again, just like Jiyong tells him that he does before he leaves for his personal schedules.
Seungri thinks and thinks, but he’s not bothered anymore, knowing he is where he should be. (Jiyong tells him he made the leader’s dreams come to life.)
8. Youngmin/Minwoo - Stupid Liar (Big Bang); WC: 180
Minwoo is a liar, and Youngmin knows that. He knows, and he pretends he doesn’t care, but inside it’s killing him. No amount of Jeongmin’s or Kwangmin’s comfort can bring him out of his misery, but he still acts like they can, for their sake.
Minwoo lies for telling him that he would always be there, when he disappears on a date with another idol the next day. Minwoo lies for telling him he’d take care of him, when he brushes off all of Youngmin’s pains as not serious, pushing him to work harder in practice the next day. Minwoo lies for telling him he loves him, when he announces their break-up out of the blue. Youngmin finds him kissing their leader the next day.
Youngmin thinks he’s stupid for believing all of Minwoo’s lies, thinks Minwoo is stupid for lying in the first place, but he can’t bring himself to hate the maknae.
Youngmin loves him and is a liar for pretending he doesn’t. Minwoo is a liar, Youngmin is a liar, but somehow, he’s the only one hurting.
9. Myungsoo/Sungjong - Bye Bye (T-Ara); WC: 119
Sungjong stares one last time at the boy before him. He gives a wistful smile. He really did truly love this beautiful creature. But almost-mythical beings like him have to be set free to where they truly belong, which, unfortunately, was not Sungjong. He had always been one for tears, but he’s done crying over this boy. He’s going to let Myungsoo go; it was the best for him, for them.
Sungjong raises his hand slowly, and Myungsoo thinks that the maknae might just slap him after all the hurt he’s given him. Instead, Sungjong brings his hand to his forehead, weakly saluting. A sign of thanks, of goodbye. The younger boy smiles one last time before walking away.
10. Woohyun/Sunggyu - Lightless (Beast); WC: 244
Sunggyu is on his side, curled up into a ball in his room. He’s alone in the dorm, and all the lights are off. He has always preferred the darkness. The lights only remind him of a camera somewhere that never leaves him alone, of the spotlight that he tries hard to be deserving of, but never really is. Little droplets of water leave their marks on the mattress he’s lying on as he tries to bury himself further in the surrounding darkness. It’s cold, very cold, but he would prefer that to the scorching heat that never seems to fade.
“Hyung?” A tentative voice calls out and suddenly, a sharp yellow invades his sight. He scrunches up his eyes because he’s afraid of the light and all the scary monsters it holds (how ironic). A strong body is next to his side in an instant, and Woohyun has his arms wrapped around the leader’s shivering frame (despite the light’s heat).
Strangely though, Sunggyu doesn’t feel cold or hot-it’s warm and it’s comforting, and he thinks he can finally sleep without worry. He opens his eyes, and for once the yellow becomes soft and inviting, lightly coloring Woohyun’s hair a golden-brown. Sunggyu thinks it’s nice and safe, right here in Woohyun’s arms.
He had been lightless for too long. He also thinks he had been too ignorant of a glowing star right beside him. It turns out that Woohyun was all he needed.
A/N: So I kind of cheated by going longer than the song's duration and editing them after going through the ten songs. ^^;;
Comments are very much loved! ^^
