Cant sleep

I close my eyes but cant cease the thoughts
unable to watch the self destruction
I left in the hour of need
but how can I help, when I myself cant even function

hours spent staring at the ceiling
unable to see her
unable to hear her
but the thoughts still linger

even though I do care
one more time of seeing a dripping tear
another whimper that I would hear
