Sir Guy's diary

Jul 22, 2013 20:20

Disclaimer, so no one calls the police: this is the fictional diary of Sir Guy of Gisborne from the Robin Hood BBC TV series. This season he basically has two settings: homicidal or suicidal, so please also consider this a trigger warning.

Those damn royals and their power struggles, making life difficult for the entire rest of the country. I've just been reading a book about the War of the Roses, when personal ambitions were responsible for an astounding amount of death and misery.

Huh? I thought Richard died several diary entries ago . . . just after Guy failed to make Robin into Purina Lion Chow.

Ah, no - it was a ruse: John was trying to steal the throne. Guy explained it here, but only very briefly. He was a bit preoccupied with being made prisoner yet again. *g*

Ah, I missed that. It got lost in the endless deluge of insane plot complications. I'm beginning to suspect that Guy's take on things is probably as coherent as the overall story arcs themselves.

*g* Yeah, he's actually not as unreliable a narrator as you might at first think.

Those infernal Plantagenets. They're just so much trouble. Think of how wonderful Guy's life would be if he didn't have to worry about feuding Plantagenets.

...I'm pretty sure he'd have managed to screw it up, one way or another.
