The day started out frantic. I didn't have time to give the dog a good walk before I had to be out of the house, toting far too many books to get to an appointment. Then came about two hours in a food court over lunch hour editing existentialism waiting for my second appointment. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to walk through a park the past two days. I like fallen leaves, and the smell is great. Doggie also seems to like it, but of course she likes just about any weather.

The down side of living downtown is that you really don't get the full fall experience unless you look for it.

The raccoon (K has dubbed our bandit "Rocky") made another attempt, but was foiled by our engineering brilliance. We put a stick in the window. :-) I thought I heard something last night, and this morning there are paw prints in the cayenne pepper we put around the window.
