This is too great! I've been wanting to find a good instructional video on singing! I just started singing on my church's worship team and I don't have any experience. I'm trying to learn how to get my voice to sound less nasally and how to get my head voice to project more. I'm at work so I can't practice right now, but I'm excited to watch this when I get home.
Hi honey!! Congratulations on getting on the worship team, I know you will have a huge impact there. You are very welcome for the video!! There's a lot of things that I couldn't even put in there, but in terms of making your voice less nasally, really focus on the rotunda/by the way, and also projecting into the gushy part of your mouth and head. The voice is linked to the part of us that communicates, and it responds to thought. So *think* of the breath and sound going straight up into your head and sinus cavity and resonating, instead of going out of your mouth . . . that alone will do wonders. Best of luck, and God's wisdom and grace! Tell me how it goes ok? :)
Wow, thanks for the advice! Can't wait to practice :)
I've been on the worship team for quite a few years, but always as the violinist...Lately, the worship team has been erm...less than accomodating for my instrument, we'll say...it's a prophetic instrument and when it's put in a box or stifled, it just grieves my spirit like crazy, so there really hasn't been a place for me there, anymore. But little did I realize God had a reason for allowing me to get frustrated...so I'd exercise another gifting; singing :). He's been calling me to do it for a very long time, but I've just always been afraid. Two vocalists just moved away, leaving the worship leader as the only female voice, so God's really putting me on the spot! But it's great! The fear is gone, so now I'm just trying to develop the raw talent into something more trained.
