I really should be more regular with my updates. But I'd recently been very depressed because I had so many things going on at the same time but God willing, it's getting better now. I got my 2nd semester marks and I am grateful that I improved vastly from the last semester. I am slightly worried about the grades my external examiners would give me

That's fine, hon, we can still talk about it. As a matter of fact, that would be better, I can actually explain Foucault (thereby proving to myself that I understand him) and then we can see together how to link his theoretical framework with DN. Shall we carry this on e-mail or AIM?

I've been reading Foucault's history of sexuality recently, funnily enough, but I don't have terribly in-depth views regarding his explorations of violence/penal system as of the moment, since I've let the dust settle over the top in favour of Sapphic poetics... I could brush up on them if you'd like some idea bouncing!

I'm wondering if Fanon might be of use to you with regards to both manga? Theories of violence especially.

History of Sexuality? One of my classmates is using that for her thesis on capitalism and female agency - sounds interesting :). Sapphic poets=lesbian poets, right? I'm not familiar with Fanon's violence theories but they do sound useful so feel free to recommend me some of his books :D.
