Phew, real life stands in the way of the important information about Sookie Stackhouse. This has been my longest absence to date - and I can assure you I didn't die in the intervening time. It's a long and complicated tale of school holidays, illness and family visitors. After the chicken finger debacle, rest assured I have not resorted to

I am again reminded of the very strange things that is people measuring Sookie`s suitors against each other and choosing the "best one" as if they were applying for a job and one could read their resumes. People forget that it`s all about Sookie`s feelings - who she does and doesn`t love (romantically).
I am also reminded of a friend of mine who has a husband who, for many reasons, was not a Prince Charming and, because of a stroke he recently suffered, is even less so now. Her sisters and some of her friends want her to throw him out of her life (he is the father of her child so this is not something light and easy they`re asking of her) but as she says, "he`s the man I love and I choose him because of this." This is Sookie, I figure. She loves a man with flaws and she chooses him in spite of those flaws. And, contrary to in most romances (and fanfic) Eric does not magically turn perfect just because of this love.

Lol - yes - it's like resumes. As if Sookie can't really tell who she loves and who she doesn't. And in the ultimate form of cognitive dissonance, then let's *also* complain that she takes too long to make up her mind and overthinks it as well!
I think that sometimes flaws can be part of what you love about someone. Mr. Minty is stubborn (unlike me, I am perfect) and I love that about him. Without that, he wouldn't be who he is. Similarly with Eric, his life has turned out some good stuff and some bad stuff. I hate the freaking perfect love shit that goes on.

I admit, my knowledge of Romance 101 is severely lacking. Here I was thinking since they were *called* mysteries, then you know, that might be their genre.
Some flaws are cute, and some, no matter how bad they are, are essential. You just can't live with some perfect Daddy ready to lecture you at a minute's notice because you're doing life wrong. God - that guy would have his head stove in while sleeping.
Without stubborn, there's a whole heap of other consequences. Like if Eric really was the modern Renaissance man, he'd intimidate Sookie with his knowledge, and he'd be constantly wanting to chat about his feelings. Cue one pissed off telepath who can't get a moment's silence.

Sam is better than Jason. And of course, Jason has been a shit for a while and is only now starting to come good - whereas Sam has been great the whole way through.

I love ironic mustache! :D
I think there's going to be consequences, but "Live" is so fucking vague. Is Sam going to have flowers spring up in his wake? Is he going to impregnate every woman who looks at him sideways? Maybe he'll get a little extra life, and live longer. Maybe he'll feel more energetic. CH said that there's always consequences to using magic, and it is in the text about paying a price. I just can't remember where. Sookie mentions it though.
No - she hasn't. She's pretty much done all that she can do to stop herself from choosing Sam. And yeah - I don't think Sookie is dangerous enough for Sam. He likes someone who can run with him in the woods too, and Sookie's just not into that. I think she'd be horrified if she had to put herself into the same category with Jannalynn and Callisto. :D The fashion choices alone would shame her. :D

I think they view each other in very similar ways and there may have been a chance at romantic love between them in the very early days but there was never enough spark to get it started. Whatever Sookie's problems are going to be in DEA, I'm betting Sam will be first in line to try to help and not because her knickers suddenly look far more inviting;)

I think Sam just waited too long. After all, Sookie was working with him for five years, and all that time, thought she was the only "freak". When vampires come out, she finds out that she isn't. But in the meantime, Sam left her dangling there, thinking she was the only one in the world.
Sam will be the first one to help out. Not to mention, that without Sam around, Eric doesn't have reliable backup for Sookie. He *knows* Sam will defend her, and Bill will protect her, and that's why he keeps them in place. Eric can't be there all the time - and Sam and Bill are his backup.

He'll go to baby showers, and not try to talk loudly about the deliciousness of said babies. He'll go to restaurants, and no one will ask for his autograph and he won't stare you down during the main meal. There's lots of upsides to Sam being a friend.
