I heard tonight on CBC radio that the Royal Cdn Mint is actually thinking of minting a THREE DOLLAR COIN!!

Oh please spare me this nightmare.

It's not bad enough with our loonies and toonies? You're going to break my back and wallet with ANOTHER COIN?????

And you're going to create a currency that doesn't exist????

A $3 coin???

I'm currently online searching for proof to my partner that this was an april fool's joke. I guess he wasn't the only one who fell for it :)

And it did occur to me that it was an April Fool's joke, but I found no mention of it on the Mint's website, and it's posted on the CBC site as a legitimate news item. It was still there this morning.

So I dunno.

The CBC site must have been hijacked and placed with funny news stories. Happened to CNN's a few years ago. Funny though.
