Yay, tutorial! *loves*
Will try this out after I finish my 20 icons *gg*
It sounds well-explained to me, you know.
Oh and could I request another for whenever you would have the time to make another tut?
I really loved the colouring of your fifth artist's choice icon from the 20in20 batch you posted the other day, so if you ever feel like, I'd adore a tut for that one :D
Thank you for sharing this one!
The end result is absolutely fantastic, but I must say again that all the icons you made for this challenge are stunning.

Let me know if you try it and think "wtf, she really doesn't actually make sense when you do it" :P Though I'm hoping the screenshot of the layers helps a little... I am slightly scared by the number of layers/steps, I have to say!

I think some of the selective colouring might be the same (or it might not! I don't know without comparing them) but several of the other layers are different. I think some of the colouring with the fifth one was to do with the original image though. I guess that could often be the case. I'll have a look at it another day for you :)

Anyway, I'm really glad you like the icons :D :D

I hope the tutorial behaves if you try it :)

oh that's good! the number of steps scares me, that's why I said it (by 'scares' I mean that I can't believe how many there are :S it's slightly...)

I'm glad it inspired you though :D

Wheee, something to play with. And is there really such a thing "too many layers" in an icon? ;-)

Will certainly try that one out soon. Thank you for writing it. :D

It was. :) And I skipped a couple steps inbetween because they didn't make any notable difference on the picture I chose. *gg*

Better that they didn't make a difference than they destroyed it ;)

erm!! lol. Let me look at how it's set.. It's just set as font size: 14px, font style: regular, language: English (UK), anti-aliasing: sharp, colour: #160E27, blend mode: normal with opacity 64%. I don't know that the language makes a difference in this case.

Thank you! I'm rather fond of it myself.. I've used this colouring or variations of it quite a few times (I think)

I've found that I have issues with lots of the colourings ppl post tutorials for doing odd things :S I don't know if it's an issue with TV shows/photoshoots compard to f1 photography (which is what I mainly use) or whether it's something else. I'm not sure the overalls help :P
