My two cents on punk aesthetic
Cobbled together after a few hours helping Gur sell her hand-made harnesses at a concert last night.
(The concert was at a place called Swartz Kanal, which is a queer punk trailer park near an old, Weimar Republic-looking abandoned factory. Giant gorgeous smokestacks and a warning to keep out of the actual building, cause it's full of asbestos. ( Read more... ) -

My friend and fellow performer Gil recently decided to sell off his drag stuff. When this happens, it generally means that the person has decided to stop performing- otherwise the wigs and shoes and so on are more or less jealously guarded- a good collection is built over time and not lightly culled. So in the middle of all the exhibition commotion, this Tuesday was the final activity for the art class I teach at the museum. I can't say that the year has been really successful in that arena. Exhibition opening number two in three days. One to go. I'm hiding from the festivities in my room- honest to god, it's the first half-hour i've had to myself all day.

So..the end of the curating course. We had a little party, watermelon and bulgarit, and told the teachers what we liked and didn't about the course. I felt like the whole year was an exercise in learning how to express myself clearly and succinctly, and that it didn't really work.
