Supernatural 9.01 reactions to fandom and some spoilers

So I've been visiting various Supernatural forums to get a feel for the reactions to 9.01.  I'm actually pretty encouraged that more than a few people are actually angry that Dean chose to let Ezekiel take the wheel against Sam's wishes.  I've been semi-convinced that the original choice can be justified based on time constraints and desperation.  ( Read more... )

... Huh. I find I am glad I no longer read as many episode reactions as I used to. That is all very distressing. I don't agree with Dean's decision, but I can understand that a person might make a bad choice in a stressful situation (I admit I'm less outraged by it than frustrated that they are telling the same story yet again. On one hand I do understand your issues with the fan justifications, of course. On the other, it's fun to watch the whining of, "It's not fair! Sam gets to have angel powers, that was supposed to be for Deeeeeen! Wah waaah" etc. gnashing of teeth...

Does that make me a bad person? *^^*

I don't think it's really fair to say Dean's trusting Ezekiel more than he trusts Sam. He just doesn't have the emotional maturity to let Sam go. *shrug*

I enjoyed the premier more than I thought I would. It was a lot better than S8's character assassination of Sam/Dean turning up the hypocrisy to 11.

I'm to the point where I don't think Dean loves Sam at all. He doesn't even see Sam, just a projection of his fantasies and an object to satisfy his emotional needs. When Sam apologized to Dean in the church about letting Dean down, all I could think was, "what about the times he let you down, the times he didn't support you, or try to see your point of view?

Anyway, the latest ep, featuring the definitive killing of Destiel, was indeed sweet.
