Perhaps he yelled at you because he found the idea of your risking your own safety to help him distressing?

People do not always express themseles in the best of ways. Anxiety can look like anger or worse, ridicule.

I doubt very much that his true reaction to what you did was as it seemed. I don't know Ron very well, but he doesn't strike me as that...callous.

I could be wrong, of course.

You are correct in stating that you do not know Ron very well. He can quite callous...to me at any rate. Sometimes I believe that he actually dislikes me.

I assure you, he was not at all distressed on my account. He was quite angry that I had "embarrassed" him through my attempt to assist him.

Had I not been so blinded by my concern for him, I would of course have realized that Ron would have found any attempt to assist him to be humiliating. It is difficult for me to stop thinking of him as being merely my "baby" brother. It is second nature to me to look after him, but he is old enough to look out for himself.
