Ned tried to remain calm. He stood up to match the other man’s gaze, though it was difficult to look directly at his pupils through the dark.
“How do you know about what I can do?” he asked, keeping his tone as even as possible. If Emerson Cod ever found out about this development… but Ned didn’t want to start thinking about that.
“Does it really matter?” the man asked him while raising one of his large eyebrows.
“No, I guess it doesn’t. I’d just like to know, since you went to all the trouble of coming down here to see me - and to, by the way, interrupt me during my personal time.”
The man narrowed his eyes for a bit, but then regained his composure. “Yeah… Sorry about that.” His tone implied that he wasn’t sorry at all, and was being rather sarcastic instead.
“Apology unaccepted. If you leave now, though, I can go back to standing here by myself in the dark instead of calling the police, like I could be doing right now.” Ned realized that this is what he should, in fact, be doing anyway, but he remained rooted to his

Oh my god. xD That is even better without the porn, really, because it turned out so dry-witted and morbid/gentle as the show itself. I am overcome with early-morning "N'awwwwww!"
