Darn, wished we'd heard the holler for help with the lights. Troy and I stood around a lot the first few hours and could have loaned hands...
And no prob on the sched change with the fashion show... I figured you were likely aiming at your last nerve and would come across cranky *grin* I've been there, m'self, a few times.
But all in all it WAS a damned good event. Sucks that people blew past the doorfolk. Next time someone BIG and BEEFY to insist on cover. 10$ is not huge money for what was going on.
I know I and my partners had a great time, enjoyed networking and chatting with people, enjoyed the eye candy, adored the fashion show and loved the band. Looking forward to having you guys down in Hamilton this summer *nod*
I just hate hieghts... which is funny since I am always screwing with the lights at the Vatikan, and the ladder there is alot taller and quite less stable... it was more a general observation.. being in a room with what.. 30+ people, and no one doing a thing....
I do feel bad for reactting that way about the time change, I know it was not your fault or your doing, and all you were doing was trying to put the event on schedule and get things done, for that you do get my thanks and gratitude.. but you always do :)
Yeah, I'm not fancy on heights myself but Troy is a monkey and knows his stage work.
But yup, it appeared to be a LOT of running about for no real reason... or people chatting in groups.
And no problem about the time change thing... communication momentarily broke down *heh* Happens at events all the time. Things still worked out and all *nod*
Not your fault, as I said, there needed to be security up there, which the venue was suppose to supply, thats what we paid for, and I am irritatted that they did not fully live up to that end of our contract.
"I love my guitar so much, but sometimes its really impossible to play a gothic with black strings in the dark.. then to do three shots and two revs on stage during the first set.. that kind of fucked me up...."
LOL!!
It was a great show man, lots of fun. I was there...I seem to remember you walking past me through the crowd at some point after the show near the back of the dance floor and me giving you a half-hug. So there.
Don't sweat the details..it's a was a very cool night.
you saw me? even hugged me? I don't recall this at all... though I don't really remember the last half of the cover set and am relying on video footage to piece it all back together.... :)
We need to talk asap!!!!!!! give me a call tonight if you can, 647.201.1641
That kiss was awesome. You caught me totally by suprise and embarassed me a little, but I loved it :D
As for the rest of it - we did kick ass. We managed to pull together a great event on top of some really massive setbacks and fuckups. Although it didn't give us what we hoped for financially, I still think that we should be very proud of ourselves.
I actually really wish I could go to neutral this friday, make sure that trench run gets the great sound they deserve, but I am working at the Vatikan :/
Looking forward to seeing you sunday though, can't wait to hear about all your adventures from this past week :)
