May 09, 2006 11:59

The original idea for the tribute events started in I believe 2002, though I am quite bad with dates and years, so it could of been 01 or 03.. but I think it was 02.. The original idea was to create a huge 'super band' record all the material and release it at the event, which would of been an all day thing with each partcipants band performing, ( Read more... )

I don't think it would piss anyone off, maybe upset them. But I really don't think there is any reason for anyone to be pissed off.

As much as I loved the NIN tribute idea, I think that Ministry (or Killing Joke) are a better choice for you & Perdition. Not that my opinion matters much to the musicians involved but I think you're making the right choice and am really looking forward to it!

Although I'm not musically talented (you've heard me sing!) I'm definitely here to help in any other way I can :)

Yeah John mentioned you might be swinging this way...Anyone who knows me knows I couldn't disagree with you more about NIN, but of course it's your call.

I'd be into playing some guitar for a Ministry show. Can't really sing their stuff though except maybe supernaut, EDIH or something of "Twitch".

just a thought: you could always cover more than one band no? It doesn't have to be a one band night.

but whatever...when you have a song list I'll be able to let you know what I can contribute.

I have a few points, well, I have alot more, but I'll limit myself to a few;

For singing the songs, for you or anyone else, I think it is very important to keep in mind that you are not limitted to how the original sounded, infact, I would think that running distortion and flange through the vocals all night would get really boring. Part of the reason why I want to involve other musicians is to get thier take and indivuality on the songs, otherwise I wouldn't even bother with bringing in other talent.

for doing the multi bands in one night, that was one of my ideas from years ago, and I would rather do a tribute night then a cover night. again going back to the previous statement, doing a tribute night with various artists etc would give a more vast look at the single artist and in keeping the momentum moving within the performance, which I feel is key to the success of all the tribute shows

And lastly, don't worry, you'll get your list!
