So I was really excited when I heard that the creator of my very favourite show was doing a show about my very favourite serial killer, and between a very close friend and the whole of Tumblr, I got the idea I really needed to watch Hannibal ( Read more... )

Awwwww. *hugs* That character's death and that of a certain character in GoT this season (even though I have re-read the books several times!) were very hard to watch. :(

Funnily enough, I never thought of the D. Hirst artwork (I confess I'm not too familiar with his work since I'm not a fan of contemporary art)-what I immediately thought of was the slides of cross-sectioned samples you see in biology class. Not too far off the mark, I think. -_-

I can't stand the man, but there's something about his artwork beyond the shock value that does make me think. This is the work I thought of: Some Comfort Gained from the Acceptance of Inherent Lies in Everything. Here's another link to his work. I was weirdly captivated by A Thousand Years (the first picture on that gallery). I'm pretty sure Bryan Fuller is evoking at least some of it for the same reason Hirst did: to make me uncomfortable.

Have you seen Cleolinda's reviews? This is where I got the Dire Ravenstag eyeshadow. They are amazing and I'm going to read them all, including the comments. http://cleolinda.livejournal.com/tag/hannibal
