Have accidentally diminuished the human race - please sent explanations of US politicstincomhNovember 6 2008, 01:23:45 UTC
Do you understand all this US election business? Cause I don't. Also I've just received a really weird email from a friend who's got all serious about the whole thing and got really cross with me when I said I didn't mind too much who won!
(Which I think is relatively fair given that I know next to nothing about either candidate and there's no point in me finding out as don't have the right to vote in the US anyway)
He says that, "it is the kind of attitude that ultimately diminishes rather than enriches us as a human race". (No, he isn't joking). I now feel very guilty for diminuishing the whole human race. - Please help! Ax

I wondered why you posted anonymously. I thought I recognized your "voice." I'm a nice American flister (I think), but I'm not correcting; just expanding on a couple of things:
>Obama is young-ish
I couldn't agree more (he's actually older than me, so I really liked this characterization.)
>increasing taxes on the middle classes
Obama has said that anyone making under $250,000 would not see their taxes increase, and those above it could afford it (okay that last phrase was actually mine, but the sentiment is clear.)
>older-and-blander Joe Biden
Joe Biden is not blander. He just doesn't look so cute in a skirt. He is outspoken and actually has said some stupid things, but he owns up to them, and I find him refreshingly honest. He is also really knowledgeable in foreign policy and relations.
>Sarah Palin
I can't bear to defend her anymore this week, so what you've said is accurate and quite sad in its trueness, although
>enjoyed hunting, was "pro-life", approved the death penaltyI love how "pro-life" people aren't pro-the
( ... )
Sorry - took my eye off the ball for a moment there. I hail the precision and to-the-pointness of your post, Peredur, and will attempt to equal it with a short, snappy and businesslike repost of my own.

You disappoint. I thought your response would be longer.
Is this your top game?
