The vacuity and knee-jerk emotion displayed on FaceBook, to virtually everything ever, is breathtaking. I wish that were a metaphor, but sometimes it builds to the point of nearly forgetting to exhale. These days I go to quickly see what my far-flung friends are up to, block the most temptingly obnoxious posts or offensive images, and jet away ( Read more... )

Your point does make me ponder it a bit, though. I think it's that I go back and forth between being saddened and annoyed by people's inability to grasp the patently obvious, and being disinterested in it.

I agree wholeheartedly on knee-jerk reaction. It inflames me at times, until I recall that many people are no brighter than lemming. "If it are on the intrawebz, it musta be da truth!"

Lemmings are nice, but man are they stupid. I just have to remind myself (not to shift metaphors too suddenly), "Pearls to swine. Don't throw pearls to swine."
