David Wins the "bash on religion one act war"

Nov 08, 2005 18:36

I stayed home "sick" because I really didn't want to be around people today. I spent the day sleeping in. Then got up around noon and played a little WoW... got bored of that so I wrote a one act that makes fun of religion's views of the afterlife... thought it was funny so i sent it to my writer friend David... turns out he had recently written ( Read more... )

i think they're both great. it may be interesting if next year's one acts had a religious theme (not all of them need to be as cynical as these two). i'd love to see both of these brought to life next year, it'd give me a reason to visit.

apperently the little stunt i pulled today landed me a nice parental dose of "grounded until saturday" ... so if people want to hang out with me after school, it has to be at my house - which isn't a problem; my parents love feeding my friends.

i know what you mean. i enjoy my writing style, david's as well. We both have very similar trains of thought which is why we fire ideas back and forth about one acts - we even write them together... its good fun.

as for the two people firing shot after shot, it's personal preference. not everyone will enjoy my work. but i do. the shot for shot aspect of people's writing is probably why i like Gilmore Girls... fast pace witty humor.

i like to think it keeps the viewer engaged... never let them get bored. i like to think fast pace humor requires a certain level of intelligence to enjoy.

David is by far a better writer. he's canadian... lots of pot... great writer... any correlation between the three?
i only know him online... we've talked about meeting up sometime, but what with being poor kids and all... =(

After Life is a first draft, i'll spice it up... clean and smoothen it up... you know how it is.

TLDR!!!!!!!!! LOL!!

Just kidding, I read it all and I like both of them. And I agree with Kris, they seem quite different but at the same time could have been written easily by the same person.

CHARON: Some people like it.
SAM: Some people like a lot of things.
CHARON: A lot of people like some things.
SAM: Are we a lot of people?

I just like that chunk
