ok, when you say "copy and paste", do you mean merge the exclusion and base layers and duplicate that, which you set to hard light? or are you just putting another base layer on top of the exclusion?

No just, copy the icon and just paste it again, and duplicate the layer and the the duplicate layer to Hard light,
