Advent Calender: Day 20, Part 1/2
My entry proper (Part 2) is still being written, so in the meantime I thought I'd post these.
This short exchange was drawn between the Brother and I a few Christmases ago - for although Brother is not a fan of the Aubreyad he loves swiss_kun's magnificent Swiss Figures. I found it again a few months ago and, seeing as they still made me laugh, I thought I might share them here.
So, with deepest apologies to swiss_kun...
The Captain's Hat: A Tribute to swiss_kun.
Transcript (As you propably can't read our handwriting)
JACK: Respect the hat. Fear the hat.
STEPHEN: Seek dental advice...
J: ...and save the sloth.
S: Do not attack sloths. Sloths are nice.
J: Sloths are debauched. Wombats eat hats.
S: No hat. Not so tough now, are you?
J: Ha! But I still have a fiddle.
S: That is entirely your own affair.
J: Not if it scares away the hat-eating wombat.
S: Yes, but that might cause problems in itself.
J: In that case I'll just take Pullings' hat.
S: But stealing Pullings' hat is not very nice.
J: Maybe not, Stephen, but it's one of the perks of being a captain.
S: Why do captains have perks? Isn't a ship enough?
J: My dear doctor, a ship is part of the job. Perks make it more worthwhile.
S: Like all these free extras which come with the ship?
J: Exactly. And staying up all night to do gun practice.
(BANG)
J: Oh I'm sorry, Stephen. Here, have you sloth to cuddle.
