So I went over the freshman bio book, and anything that's covered in it, goes actually really in depth and you can tell that the writers are actually restraining themselves from overfilling it. It's also got some really nice foundations, especially the important molecules, organelles, and DNA mechanisms, spelled out really simply.

Oh. Yeah I thought you were studying from that. I'm in AP Bio and I don't even study from the AP Bio book (At least not for finals/midterms)...much less waste time on a freshman level Bio book.
