One regret about my own education is that I did not have the chance to learn Latin. Sure, I picked up a few basics at uni, but otherwise I can't read it. I have thought about getting a qualification in my adult life, but the only thing exam boards offer nowadays is a short course GCSE, and I'd either need to get a job at an extremely high-performing or private school, or pay a private tutor. When they charge some £25-35 per hour, this is something I don't really want to do!

It's on the "long-term ambitions list" alongside getting a PhD, and re-learning to play the piano.

What I mean by recognition of some words is a series of best guesses that I can now make: flagellate, castigate, repeatedly, being tormented, near death? (mundo mortuus?), for penance? (penitus), and perhaps something about the body (habeam).

If I match my best guesses to the image, I imagine it's something about self flagellation and how it leaves wounds on the body.

Do I win a prize?
