(If you didn't know before, reading all my prompts and noticing all my numerous references to Douglas Adams, I really love Douglas Adams. He certainly trumps Moffat AND RTD in my books any day, it's only a shame that corpses are legally obliged to stay in their graves, not write TV shows

I've been reading The Ancestor Cell recently (because I'm a masochist and of course want to read about the TARDIS becoming a gargantuan Edifice and destroying Gallifrey to save the Doctor), and I totally agree on the 'Romana was only lying, she wasn't in her third regeneration' bit. That, and Fitz is fun and I adore Compassion. Unfortunately, it's all marred by me wanting to cry every time they mention the Edifice. OH BRAIN, Y U DO DIS TO ME?! That is all.

MRRRHGGGG, I SERIOUSLY NEED TO READ MORE EDA, ESPECIALLY ANCESTOR CELL. I've only read the Eight Doctors so far, and Flavia is still president in that. Which was kind of LAMEEEEEEEE. I mean, hello, boring president. Ugh, you're making me really want to read this, though, I suppose I will have to one day! The books really do get dark, don't they? They're all "PAIN PAIN, EVERYONE PAIN." And I want to hug the TARDIS a lot. And Eight.

Of course he'll return! He's like the Master: he can't stay dead. He's just waiting for an opportune moment to show back up and foil the plots of others. That, or write something stellar and wow the masses. EITHER OR, REALLY.

OHGOSH SO DO I. I have them all in e-book format (haha, pdf files orz) but I've only really read The Ancestor Cell, and mainly for the above noted reason. As I believe we've well established, I'm a TARDIS whore, so anything that revolves around her? Yeah, I'm all over that. But I want to read the Eight Doctors, too. There's just too much to dooooo ; ; And you should read it! Because then we can wail and gnash our teeth about Faction Paradox and Paradox!Eight and bitchy!Romana and Fitzlove and Edifice!TARDIS and how frigging awesome Compassion is and why isn't she in the show, goddamnit?!

Okay, I have a confession to make... While reading this, I had the most bizarre sense of deja vu like I HAVE HEARD THIS STORY BEFORE. And then, looking at your commentary, I finally had the duh moment of THAT'S WHERE IT'S FROM!

I do fail sometimes x.x It's been too many years since I read the Hitchhiker's books, though. Clearly I need to again.

I have had one of those moments! And I feel like such an IDIOT afterwards when I'm going "Oh, holy crap, that's right. That's where it was from." That is, in between the mad ravages of fanatics who are currently tearing me limb from limb for not recognising it off the bat.

I haven't read the Hitchhiker books in a long time either, but I DO have the complete audio series in my iTunes so I listen to it every now and then. Actually I haven't listened to it in a very long time, but not the point.
