so i've booked my GMATs for the 19th of September and originally I had no intention of taking leave for it, but was going to call in sick that morning instead. but now, i've got a deal closing dinner in Glasgow scheduled for the same day. add to that the fact that the Stanford GSB information event in London is on the same evening. what do i do

Obvious option is to resched your GMATs. Pay extra if you have to.

i could still do the GMATs in the morning and fly to glasgow in the afternoon for the closing dinner. i just need to provide a good excuse for why i need the morning off. an idea is to say that i am away for the weekend and will only be back late-ish monday morning?

i guess missing GSB info event is not so bad coz there is another women's event the week before that. what's important is i get myself to one of these events i think.

but then what excuse do i give for taking the morning off? i'm afraid that if my excuse isn't good enough, they will still be calling me in the morning if they have questions about work. also, am afraid that if i said that i'm away for the weekend, then they either tell me i can't go away or call me during the weekend and find me around.
