SIMPLY HAVING A WONDERFUL YULETIDE
Thank you for signing up to write me a fic for one of these fandoms! I love you already for agreeing to do so and having wonderful taste. I'm sure I will love whatever it is you come up with for me.
General things I like: Makeouts (who doesn't love a good makeout?)! character studies, fic that explores different types of relationships, creating histories for characters/relationships, stories in progress/that start in media res, slice-of-life fic, AUs -- high school or college AUs in particular, AUs that fuse one universe with another, normally from a different movie or television show -- poetic writing/descriptions, sharp, snappy dialogue, people who are dating who don't know they're dating but everyone else does, fake dating, road trips, romcom tropes, circular and parallel structure, nonlinear narratives, people who can't stay away from each other whether healthy or not, and many other things.
Things I dislike: isms, slut-shaming, stories where the ending doesn't feel earned/is too easy, character bashing and tearing one relationship down to build up another, dubcon/noncon, kidfic.
POP MUSIC RPF [Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato]
I am perpetually living in 2009, the year when Disney channel was at its height, imo: The Wizards of Waverly Place Movie and Princess Protection Program were released! It was a magical time, and Demi and Selena were everything to me. And they still are, really, so anything you came up with would be great. I would love fic that explores their relationship at any time period, starting from when they met at Barney auditions and colored on Demi's jacket, to the aforementioned 2009 period, to when they had their falling out, to today, where they seem to be friends but not very close. I would love fic where they get close again. I would love fic where there are feelings and maybe some makeouts, or even fic that is them being nostalgic and sad about everything that's happened -- something bittersweet. Really, any fic involving these two would be wonderful since the fandom has been nonexistent for so long.
SHAMELESS (US) [Lip Gallagher, Karen Jackson]
I've spent a lot of time thinking about Karen and Lip and their relationship with each other. I think they both love(d?) each other, and I think they were both terrible to and for each other, and I'm obsessed with their inability to move on even when they know they should. I am in love with Karen and perpetually angry at how the show has treated her, because she may not be a good person or very likable, but the constant disregard for her feelings has grated on my nerves. So anything about their relationship or Karen as an individual would be great -- fic that respects her feelings and opinions and autonomy would be a dream. I don't need either of them or their relationship to be romanticized, though. The complexity and fucked-up-ness is what I love the most.
I would love fic that has Karen recover from the accident in season three -- the writers doing that to her for shock value and Lip's manpain and then shipping her off so they didn't have to deal with the consequences is enraging to me. I would love fic that ignores that that happened at all, having Lip and Karen continue to have a fucked up and mutually destructive on-again/off-again relationship. I would love a Karen character study dealing with her family life before the show began or the many places she's been in since the show started. I would love to see what Karen was really up to after she left at the end of season two and before she came back. I would love a lot of thing, honestly! Focusing on Lip's life post-accident and him trying to move on (but failing) would be great if you're not super into Karen.
And, if all else fails and you're really not super into Karen -- because while I adore her and am fascinated by her, I realize that she's not likable and there are valid reasons to hate her -- I would love anything that deals with Lip and Fiona's relationship. I didn't request Fiona, and I don't know or care how Yuletide works, really, but their relationship and positions as the pseudo-mother-and-father figures to their siblings is fascinating to me. And I would not be opposed to them turning to each other for comfort -- turning to each other too much, perhaps. I would not at all be opposed to them making out and the like. Making out and the like, however, are by no means not necessary for fic about them and their relationship if incest squicks you out.
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE [Rosa Diaz, Jake Peralta, Amy Santiago]
This show is so delightfully funny, and I enjoy it so much, that basically anything you write would be amazing. Any fic that delves into the lives or backstories for Rosa, Jake or Amy would be great, but mostly Rosa or Amy -- especially Amy. I would also enjoy fic where Amy and Jake, or Amy and Rosa, go undercover as a couple and real feelings develop, because that's a great trope, or fic where Amy/Jake or Amy/Rosa are obviously dating and everybody knows it but them. Fic where Rosa and Amy and Jake are friends who hang out and make fun of other people in the precinct, with Amy sometimes -- and sometimes begrudgingly -- telling Jake and Rosa to be nice, would be amazing. And ot3 fic where they all makeout with each other would be something I would be super into as well. Just about anything involving these three, basically, is what I want. Anything at all.
DEAD LIKE ME [Georgia Lass, Daisy Adair, Mason]
I love this show so much, and I love these three so much, and any combination of them would be marvelous. I would particularly love any sort of Daisy character study or fic that delves into her past. I would love fic that deals with George and Mason's relationship and has their relationship develop romantically, because that's something I always wanted from the show and something I felt we were going to get eventually. Fic where the three of them embark on a romantic relationship would also be wonderful -- polyamory!!! Fic where one of them finishes reaping and goes off to the afterlife and the two others have to deal with that hole or emptyness would also be really interesting.
And, in all honesty, while I do like the Mason/Daisy relationship and find it interesting, I don't ever picture it being anything other than complex and bittersweet after all that happened canonically, so that's not dynamic between the two of them I'd particularly like to read. But something that focused on the complexity of their relationship and dealing with the fallout of all that happened would be great.
WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE [Alex Russo, Justin Russo]
I honestly want fic where Alex and Justin makeout. That is all. But, no, really, I'm obsessed with their relationship and the tension between them. Having them come to terms with that in a fun, cute, slightly awkward way would be wonderful. I don't really need any of it to be super angsty -- although some great angst is always enjoyable to me. Fic that reads like an episode of the show with bonus makeouts is a particular favorite of mine. If you're not cool with the incest factor, fic that simply focuses on the bond they have without that component would be fine and wonderful as well. This is a pairing that I would probably love any AU for, Bridget Jones's Diary or You've Got Mail or A Philadelphia Story or His Girl Friday or anything you could think of -- clearly my pattern is romcoms, but AUs that aren't related to films, like a college AU or a heist AU, would be great, too. I just love their dynamic so, so much that I'm open to pretty much anything involving the two of them.
Obviously all of these ideas are just that, ideas and suggestions to help you. If you find them limiting or you have another idea, go for it! If you have fun writing it then I'm sure I'll enjoy reading it.
