Hey look, a real update!

This could very easily turn into an entry about all the things that are making my life stressful right now. There are certainly plenty of them. But that's not how I work, so instead I'm going to write about the things I'm doing to keep from going insane ( Read more... )

Moving up the scale to go to the symphony... what a delicious pun. Hee hee hee. *rubs hands together* Both the pumpkin launch and the zombie walk sound like excellent ways to celebrate All Hallows Eve.

I'm glad to hear that you're squeezing some sanity reading into your insane schedule; I'm very much in support of that sort of thing. One of my duties while working shifts at the library is to go to the East exit (a.k.a. the abandoned exit that no one uses) and sitting at the desk for an hour, reading or doing homework. I'm finishing up the first book in the Dragonlance Chronicles... the book itself is pretty ridiculous, but I'm just happy to be reading something that doesn't cite Stanislavsky, or include stage directions.

Sending oodles of love!

The pun was actually completely unintentional, but you're right, it is a good one. Let's just pretend it was completely planned and thought-out...

When it comes to sanity reading, I don't think it matters how ridiculous the book is. As you said, it just needs to not have to do with school. Much love to you as well.

I would totally be willing to help you distract yourself from the varying hells of senior year. I mentioned to you my cumulative effort to get people interested in seeing "The Nutcracker," and I'd love to have you as recruit number one. The interesting point will be in finding a convenient time for all. I don't know how you feel about science fiction, but if you'd like some interesting reads, try Asimov. He is funny, concise, and makes it very difficult to think of the outside world, all boons!

Also, I have book of Asimov's short stories. Short stories are nice when you don't want to/can't invest in a longer tale.

Um, I absolutely LOVE sanity books and I am going to call them that forever. Somehow "smut books" and "fluff books" don't really capture how much they can be a lifeline back to a peaceful spirit. Yay! I can't wait to swap sanity books and go to symphonies when we're back in the same state.

Launching pumpkins on All Hallow's Eve! It's probably the highlight of the year for the physics majors. Heh.

And in parting: Gimli would be bursting with prrrride (and malt beeeeer) to hear of yer hammer adventures.
