[She heard the names of so many of those she'd known, some only in passing, others she considered as friends. "Weren't needed or wanted," the broadcast had said.

They're gone only for a few hours before Miku breaks. So many of the people she had talked to, so many of the people she became close to, gone, just like that.

[ Chaplin was already headed into the kitchen to grab a snack, but when she hears the singing and peeks in to see Miku looking so down, she waits.

Once the song is done, she speaks up. ]

Miku-chan? Is everything okay?

[perfectvoice]

[She blinks, realizing that there's someone else in the kitchen with her. She staggers to her feet--won't do to look like this, after all--and tries to smile.

It slides off her face after a second or two.]

N-No...

[pavomuticus]

[ Oh, this poor girl. Chaplin offers a smile of her own, and moves over to pat her shoulder. ]

Did you want to talk about it?

[perfectvoice]

[She wraps her arms around her instead. Don't go, it seems to say, even when she isn't saying it.]

My friends...some of them disappeared...

[Poland's back from his confrontation with Lithuania and his long walk around Mayfield. His eyes look a bit swollen from crying and his nose is red from being out in the cold for hours and rubbing at it with his sleeve.

He'd planned on just going to bed for the rest of the day, but was distracted by the sad melody coming from the kitchen. He leans into the doorway of the kitchen to listen, staying the remainder of the time until she finishes and subsequently starts to cry.]

... [Hoarsely.] Someone left you too?

[perfectvoice]

[She nods, then looks up at him.]

A really good friend of mine.

[Pulls out two cups from the cupboard and a bottle of leek juice out of the fridge before sitting down with her.]

What's your friend's name?

[perfectvoice]

Charlie-san.

[She is trying, desperately, not to let her name and her face fade away. She'll succeed, but only for a short amount of time, because not even robots can remember things for long while here.]
