It's so dark out here. It's almost like the sun never came up at all.

I wonder if this is permanent.

Two of the walls are in excellent condition. They didn't seem to suffer much damage at all. The others are damaged but repairable, I think. It's this inner wall that took the brunt of the quake. I don't know if we can fix that without a full replacement.

*Shuffling. He sounds a bit breathless* The foundation looks like it's in good condition. Damn, I wish there was more light here... Some cracks, no water coming in. Wait, there's some water on the Southwest side. *a splash* Ah. Broken pipes. They're all twisted. Full replacement required, most likely. I'll try and find a shutoff valve so it doesn't get any worse down here.

I'll try to salvage every tool I can but there's been some severe damage down here. At least I found the shotgun. *some creaking* Hmmm.... *shuffling and steps, then a bang and a quiet curse. Another, louder creak* Yeah, the remaining wall here has a lot of pressure on it. I don't think it'll hold forever.

I don't think I'll even attempt the stairs. I don't like the looks of that. It could be shored up with scaffolding for repair, eventually...

I don't think the place is a total loss, but it's going to take a lot of work and in this weather and without light, it's nearly impossible to repair at this time. Perhaps in the meantime I can bone up on some structural engineering theory.

Damn, it's dark out here.
