i just gauged my first and second holes to a 14g fromm a 20g i did it myself and it really did not hurt at all all you have to do is get 14g earrings of some sort (i suggest loops i used horseshoes) soak those in rubbing alcohol while you clean your ears with liquid soap then take them out of the rubbing alcohol and pat them dry with something clean and then lubricate your ear with something such as a piercing lubricant (my friend told me neosporin and it worked for me) also lubricate the earring and then push it on through it might be a little tough but push it hard and it will go

oh and def. agree with everyone else nose ring all the way
