Most people envy elves for their 'immortality', but I can totally see the days becoming 'same old, same old' after a few centuries.

yes and also grieving for those who's time has come has got to have an impact on them . Also, for all of the First Age's wars and struggles with Morgoth, few elves live through 3 ages other than Galadriel and Celeborn and i wonder how they can weather so many trials and tribulations . perhaps that is the reason Elros decided to be mortal unlike Elrond?

I found such joy in writing about Elves through the eyes of Hobbits. :)

yes your stories are the best with the point of view of hobbits looking at elves. They are immortal and fair but they also love to very long- do they enjoy or do they get tired?
