Is TiVo worth it?

I've known for a while, but I'm going to be missing the Olympics in its entirety due to two separate trips. Well, all but the opening ceremonies and the night of the 14th (which is the women's all-around final, thank god). Because of this, I'm debating on whether or not to buy a TiVo with lifetime service for $700 plus tax. Because I NEED to watch ( Read more... )

Rather than buy TiVo, get iO. Record everything you need, and then record that to DVDs. And then after a month or so, get rid of it.

Except we have a Dish Network contract right now, and I don't think we can have both Dish and iO.
