I hear you on that. I'm not the greatest about leaving reviews for everything I read, but I think it's nice to say something if I liked a story and especially if I favorited it. A review doesn't even have to be much (or even "nice"), but it really sucks to post into a vacuum. I don't write for the feedback, per se, but I do post for it.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I definitely write for myself much of the time (and for friends with requests), but the only reason I put my work up online is to hear what other people think. I enjoy writing more than pretty much anything else (except reading), so I will probably continue to put things up on ff.net if only for record's sake...

I will say that I have a weird thing about commenting out of the blue to new (to me) authors. I'm shy and just leaving a review sometimes gives me a little anxiety.

HOWEVER, it is my personal policy that if I love a fic enough to favorite it, I will ALWAYS also leave a good review about exactly why I love it.
