first the power goes out on the entire block and we don't have AC overnight, so i get heat stroke. then a circuit blows and i lose power *just* in my room. then my truck smokes and i have to call out from work. and the whole week i've had some sinus armageddon going on, which i think evolved into bronchitis, will find out tomorrow when i get my ( Read more... )

You told me about most of this, but the stuff with your mom is new... Had no idea you could possibly pack more unfortuanteness into this past week. @_@ But at least things seem to be looking up a bit.

Also: when you finish watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, you really really really need to watch Legend of Korra, the follow-up series. Only the first season is out so far, but it's 12 episodes of unbridled awesome. And you'll see one of the characters I'm dressing up as this year. ^_^

*waves* hi stranger! Been a while!

(Banana ice cream I haven't tried - but banana milk shake? frozen bananas blended like whoa with coconut milk, optional strawberries and/or unsweetened cocoa, are the best stuff ever!)

Hi! *waves* Life has been kicking my ass lately but then...when has it not been? Haha. The foster kids ate all my frozen bananas so I'll wait til next month to try cooking anything again. In the meantime, I have some cinnamon and brown sugar popcorn with just a hint of buttercream that is DEADLY. =P

My roommate is looking to adopt, so I went through the foster parent program with her for moral support (and so I could help out) and we got licensed. Then we got a call with an emergency 30 day placement...2 little girls. We'll only have them for another 2 weeks but they already gave us that white-haired, raccoon-eyed, mumbling quietly and blank stare appearance you see on new parents sometimes. a 5 year old and a 1 year old.

If anything, this experience has made me realize I am NOT READY nor will I probably ever be.
