I'm just. Wow. Amazed and somewhat appalled. Amazed because those are some damn good digital effects on the website (high-band version), but the story itself... is just some glorified, considerably Americanized next-gen HP fanfic. I'm surprised that JKR gave the okay on this in the end. I would have immensely preferred hearing that

Kinda off-topic, but how goes that suspense workshop novel?

It's going okay-ish, I think. It's hard to tell when the bulk of what I have written is the climax and a tiny part of the beginning, though I need to write more of the beginning this weekend. (I think I'm supposed to be focusing on personal ghosts, or location descriptions, I don't remember which was this week's assignment.) In terms of actual quality, I'm not happy at all, but this class isn't about work quality - just getting a finished first draft. But the professor's trying to convince us to publish through the literary mag or something and it's making me freak out because none of us have publish-ready material. x_x So yeah, the actual process is going decently, but the material is sub-par and that's giving me a bit of anxiety, but I'm dealing with it. This is a pretty good class in terms of getting me to actually friggin' write something without trashing it immediately, plus I'm actually enjoying writing an original work.
