Friend and I were kind of tossing back the human!Doctor and Rose thing. How it's sort of good for the both of them, even if it's not her Doctor and it's sort of horrible for him. We came to a bit of a conclusion that if Rose went with her Doctor, she would eventually grow old and he'd stay the same and... that would probably actually be painful for her. This he must know, and at least she can be with someone that she can grow old with.

That, and it would be painful for him, as it always would be. "You wither and you die" as painful as that line is. And he would have to watch; he couldn't bring her 'home' to Earth and walk away, she's dead there. He could maybe put her on another planet, but would he? They'd probably just... slowly suffer through her last years.

I'm not an avid Ten/Rose shipper X3 I like the pairing but it's one of those "Okay, well, it's really hard to get work. I mean. It's the Doctor. He's not gonna show that human." he couldn't on the bay*probably more, can't remember ( ... )

The lack of Jack and Rose was one of the things that bothered me most about this episode, because not only did they leave that plot thread flapping in the wind, but it reminded me of the worst of the insularity of Rose and Ten which I normally pretend doesn't exist because I like them both a lot. I mean, c'mon! She brought him back to life forever! He stalked cutely her when she was growing up! Can't they at least have ONE scene together?

I am growing more resigned to Donna's fate because even though I didn't like it, I think it was actually kind of well-written, and it also tied in thematically. After all of Davros' babble about how the Doctor turns his companions into explosion-happy people, we're forced to confront that Donna is a far better person now than before she met the Doctor, and that it is incredibly horrible for her to lose that. Also, the events of Turn Left showed that Donna is capable of growing more awesome all on her own, which means there's still hope. It's just very upsetting that we don't get any hints of that at ( ... )
