Hi Jennifer! It's funny you mention the restrictions, because it took me forever to find your journal! I used to read it all the time when you had the link pasted in your AIM Buddy info. For some unfortunate reason it's not there anymore and I found myself having withdrawals.

Anyhow, I hope that all is well with you and we should chat sometime!

Peace.

jenn: how do you make a post like this to announce that your journal is private without it appearing on your friends' friends pages forever? i just tried to do it (but as a post only i could see) and it popped up on my friends page even though i dated it really late.

thanks. :)

LJ used to have an option to "backdate" the post and it wouldn't go on the friends pages. I think that's what it was called at least, but I couldn't find it on the posting page. Even so, I'm not sure that that's what I did with this one. I believe that the friends page just pulls the most recent posts based on the date you posted, not the date on the post, so although it'll show up once, it shouldn't stay up there forever. You can test that by posting a private post, and checking someone else's friends page and seeing if it stays up there after it should have been knocked down. And then, if you never want it to show up on someone's friends page, you can wait a few weeks and then just turn the private post public. If that made any sense.
