Of course, just because I've stopped playing poker online doesn't mean I've stopped watching poker.

ESPN's coverage of the 2004 World Series of Poker began last night, and despite the fact that the DVR was set for it, I couldn't stop myself from watching it. That's going to change, though, for a number of reasons:

yeah, i had the same problems with the coverage as you. plus i love watching federer and ivey play, and having the time cut in half reduced them to a "where's waldo" spot after such build up. bah.

since you started covering your online tournament playing, i myself have gotten plenty addicted to the game. watching last year's finale didn't help matters, so i'm trying to learn the intricacies (and numerology) as quickly as possible. pleased to report that i won the pots to two of the three rounds friends and i played over the weekend.

as if being a grad student isn't hard enough, now i must combat the potential no limit addiction. damnation.

Pokersavvy.com has a quick and dirty tutorial on pot odds that you should probably read. Click here. It works best in limit games, but it can be helpful in No Limit games when you have top pair and want to ruin someone else's pot odds ( ... )
