*sitting some day under a perfectly blue sky with his legs spread out in the green grass before him, in his hands a little project, the spine and spar of a kite, covered with pages of old-fashioned script; he presses his lips together in concentration as he ties on the tail -- a length of bright ribbon the same color as the sky*

Michael, someone whose life revolves around destruction, has become rather fascinated by people who can make things. When he notices Rosencrantz in the process of making something he walks closer and stands rather awkwardly nearby to watch. But he probably isn't going to say anything and is free to be ignored.

Typist: OMGRosencrantz! *shifty glance* I did not just fangirl. And we are throwing Michael for no reason whatsoever.

there is nothing rosencrantz loves so well as to create -- there's a soft sort of half-surprised wonder in it, in careful hands and wide open eyes, as though he did not make the thing himself, but discover it on its own, fully formed. just as he becomes unconsciously aware of certain laws of nature, of balance and of gravity and air resistance, he becomes aware of all the possibilities of creation ... aware that, with a little imagination and cleverness, anything can be made to change its purpose, can become something entirely new. there is another option besides destruction, decay, death; besides being discarded once you've lost your use.

but then he forgets it, of course -- he's not that deep a fellow. and he looks up with a perfectly silly, perfectly shallow smile -- "why, hello, there, sir -- !"

typist: XD i wasn't aware rosencrantz was worthy of fangirling ... !

"Oh. Hello. Did I disturb you? I'm sorry, I can leave." Michael looks amazingly embarassed at having been seen watching Rosencrantz.

Typist: I was watching the movie last night and then Boom! a post. It's a sign...

"oh, no -- i'm not very easily disturbed, i don't think. at least not by having people about -- i like having people about. it gets a bit lonely without them, doesn't it? or at least, lonelier than it is with --"

typist: ^_____^ clearly i approve of people watching said movie. i hope my ros measures up!

Cimorene walks rather briskly as a rule, but she sees him and slows, curious. "What are you making?"

"a thing," he explains (as though that should count as explanation), "a thing with paper, and sticks, and bits of string. and ribbons, too -- i like ribbons. i say ..." rising a bit awkwardly and unbalanced to his feet, kite string in hand, he looks up at the sky. "i say, do you suppose it's windy enough today?"

"I might know, if you told me what you were trying to do with your 'thing.'"

I think that's what it is. I'd love to help, if you think it would fly.
