He lifted her chin gently with one finger to kiss her hello. "Hot one today, isn't it?" he commented, pulling off the button-up shirt he was wearing open over a white undershirt.

There. That was her strategy - ripping it off like a bandaid. Of course, she'd said so much so quickly that she wasn't sure he even registered that last bit.

He trailed off, blinking, as he registered the final thing she'd said. Shaking his head as though to clear it, he ran one hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, that last bit - it sounded just like you'd said you're pregnant."

Maybe she should have told him as soon as she suspected. But really, what good would that have done? At least this way she was sure, and his reaction, good or bad, was for the real thing...

He met Tonks' eyes, giving her a reassuring look. "Neither of us may have a tonne of experience in this area, but I think we'll be fine. And we certainly won't be lacking for assistance." It wasn't that Remus wasn't nervous - he was terrified, in fact - but he was determined to stay calm and strong for his wife. And at the moment, the excitement over being a father was outweighing the fear.
