Not even sure what to think about this. I see LJ the old way, the good old fast-loading S1 style, and without ads, but once in a while when not at home, I access it like non-paid non-perm users, and it's the miserable experience they say it is. :|
I'm not sure what sort of future LJ has... just based on that alone.
Horrible pop-up ads are the WORST, and annoying ads of many other kinds while browsing... completely against what LJ said it stood for years ago. It's a classic case of give them an inch, they take a mile.
So while I still think it's the best thing out there for what it is to me, and paid journaling with friends, I don't know if that's enough to get new people to continue crossing over, if the awful Ad experience is what they see at the doorstep before even coming inside the house.
uhhhhh.... well..... *ulp* ... I can't really be sure, but, I think that may have been one of those one-way things... I hate those. I've seen so many things where you can't go back, that I kept the original style (after trying the S2 one) in a test account way way way years ago... So I don't recall exactly, but maybe you can't go back :|

A more important question is:
With all their recent issues, will any care or buy them if they are offered.
