Harper Hall - Entrance Foyer(#4382RJs)
In this small foyer to Harper Hall, everything is clean and in perfect order. Overhead, hanging from high beams are a pair of chandeliers, set up with electric lights. They cast a cool glow throughout the room. Underfoot, beige stone tiles create a textured surface while a few well placed throw rugs in harper blue soften the look. On the walls are several tapestries depicting portraits of famous MasterHarpers of ages past.
Cushioned benches line the walls, along with small tables with round blue vases of fresh flowers. Off to one side is a podium with a large tome on it. The tome can be read by any who wander through in order to find out more about what a Harper must do. To the south, you spy the doors to offices of Harper Masters, while to the north and west you see the doors to the Hall's Dining Hall and the doors to the CraftHall proper.

People: Aoriya Moyrel

Obvious exits:
Headwoman's Office   Apprentice Master's Office   Craftmaster's Office   Craftsecond's Office   Grand Hall   Courtyard
Moyrel is here, looking over a statistical record book of some sort, occasionally looking up from the book to watch the bustle of craft activity.

Aoriya slips in, carrying a package for the Harper and gaping like a tourist. No, seriously, she's looking back and forth as she tries to find the Craft Master out of the bustle. A blue firelizard pops in above her head and an outstretched hand brings him in before he can cause any trouble. "rrrrg... where..." She hops up and down on her toes to see if she can spot the Master Harper.

Moyrel stands up as someone with the appearance of lost courier appears. She tucks the book under her arm and approaches the new arrival. "Hello," she says, and dips a curtsey. "You look confused?"

Aoriya heheh's nervously. "I've got a package of vellum for the Master Harper Moyrel?" Its both a statement and a question. The firelizard moves to her head as Aoriya starts shifting back and forth looking for the clipboard she needs to finish the delivery should she have found her man. The lizard chirps indignantly, bobbing back and forth on her head until. "Thank you Omasuth, I've got it." A helpful dragon seems to have pointed the way, for she finds it tucked into the left side of her wherhide jacket. "ah."

Moyrel nods, and sets the book on the nearest table, and reaches to take the package. "That'd be me. I and some of my more advanced students are working on a calligraphy project." She looks at the firelizard for a moment, and sifles a giggle. "Thanks."

Aoriya eeks as the firelizard slips to her shoulder with a flap of wings. "No problem." She offers the clipboard to Moyrel. "Sign here. And pardon Shida here. I don't know what possessed him to pop in all the way out here. All three of mine have been acting the strangest lately. I think my green lizard's gonna end up goin proddy soon. That might be the cause of the uproar."

Moyrel grins sympathetically. "One of my greens is proddy right now. Great Faranth, I wish she'd get it done with. Anyway." She takes the clipboard and signs as indicated in her loopy, spidery handwriting. "There."

Aoriya nods. "Thank you." Shida squeals and goes darting between. He reappears higher above near the hall cieling and silently glides off. "Oh dear... and he's likely caught on to her too. Durn blue, my bronze lizard acts like Don Juan back home, so he thinks he can steal some women abroad." She laughs. "Shida! Git back here..." No sign of the sky blue. "I give up. This is the boy who skinned his chest because a green got under his skin."

Moyrel laughs lightly. "Yeah, and my green acts like Godiva sometimes. She has as much ego as some of the golds, so help me." She looks around, as if for something or someone. "Where is that little beast anyway? So, yours tends to get a bit, erm, reckless when someone's proddy, I take it?"

Aoriya rolls her eyes. "Weeellll... since my bronze acts like the worlds worst egotist when it comes to the females, I guess Shida, the blue that just flew the coop, figures that he can follow me around and he'll get a girl eventually." Aoriya drawls.

Moyrel chuckles softly. "Actually my brown Ash is the egoist among my males. He fancies himself so macho--really he's an old softy, but don't say that around him."

Aoriya laughs. "oh... that might be my /dragon/ for that matter! Omasuth goes for the nearest green or gold he can find when we travel. And he has such a crush on this gold from his clutch named Zuhth." Aoriya laughs. There's a bronze, come to stealz his brother's stolen woman, for the lizard sail/slinks in the same direction his brother has, holding an altitude equal to his blue brother. "Uh oh." She points to the bronze. "That's Kujaku... this could be trouble."

Moyrel grins, and pets the sleepy bronze lizard on her shoulder. "Mm, fighting for the hand of a lady, then? This one's Sparkle." The little bronze churrs contently at Moyrel and then lifts his head slightly as he hears his name. "My lazy one."

Aoriya snorts. "my lazy is green Nemu. And /she's/ nowhere to be seen. There's a dune that I like to go sunbathe on with Omasuth in our spare time. Odds are she's gone there to sleep." Aoriya peeks at Sparkle. "Hey there... yes you /do/ sparkle..." She assures the firelizard.

Moyrel grins. "Yeah, well, y'know, flattery usually will earn you anything with these critters, so don't let it get to his little bronze head." The firelizard butts her gently in the cheek, as if denying that fact totally humble, yup, yup. "Bah," she bahs at the critter. Then, "But I love 'em all the same."

Aoriya chuckles. "Oh I know the type. Firelizards are some of the most affectionate creatures on Pern." She agrees. "Dragons, Runners and domestic canines come after that. My Omasuth, he walked right up to me and butted me right in the chest..." She sighs lovingly at her lifemate.

Moyrel grins. "I've witnessed enough draconic Impressions to see all the ways that the bond can start. Y'know, there was a time when I'd always hoped to be Searched for weyrlinghood, once upon a time long ago, when I was young enough for it. It never happened. Everyone told me that it was my destiny to become Masterharper of Pern. I never believed them." She has to laugh a little at that.

Aoriya snorts. "I believed my destiny was to follow in my father's footsteps and help him make fireworks. He's very good at it. He makes emergency flares too. I think he did a show in Fort Hold last turn actually. I was busy that night or I'd have come to watch."

Moyrel nods, shifting the package in her hands. "Well, as I come from a family of Traders, joining the craft was a bit of a break from tradition, though a welcome one, as I was the only one with any significant musical talent." A pause, then: "Actually, it's been a while since I last was the Fort proper, even for all the traveling that I still do elsewhere."

Aoriya chuckles as a bronze blur goes shooting past above near the cieling, on the tail of not a green, but somebody's gold. "Oh no." There goes two more bronzes and a brown behind her. "I'm only half hoping he gets his claws on 'er. Who's /is/ that anyway? Just like Kujaku to be rude." Still no sign of Shida, which is likely a good thing. "My dad actually makes road flares for Traders. That's most of what he makes, but fireworks are his passion."

Moyrel watches the lizards and shrugs. "No idea. I don't think I even know anyone around here who has a gold. It's all good, as they don't damage anything zinging around the foyer or wherever they end up."

Aoriya rolls her eyes, "I'd better get going, Kujaku can come back when he can. And if you find Shida pestering any of the greens, he doesn't like peppermint. Something peppermint smelling will drive him away in a heartbeat." Aoriya rolls her eyes. "Go figure. Its been a pleasure ma'am." She bows politely.

Moyrel nods emphatically, and picks up the book, holding the packing under her arm. "Sure thing, you have a good day. I should be getting back to my duties myself." With that she starts toward the administrative offices. Exit stage rear.
Aoriya makes a delivery to the Harpercraft hall.
