I love Jasper Fforde, the later Thurdsday Next books are not so great but the early ones are brilliant. Also "The Last Dragonslayer". Shades of Grey is my favourite so far, because he works the premise so nicely.

I feel a bit sorry for the book now...it will probably be confused with the abysmal 50 Shades of Grey.

I had heard the Thursday Next books drop off in quality, so I'm taking my time with the rest of the series. I'll have to check out "The Last Dragonslayer."

Agreed. Apparently Fforde's Shades of Grey is meant to be a trilogy eventually, and I wonder if he'll change the name of the series.

Yes, I have read Jasper Fforde! I love Thursday Next! I'm not sure I made it to Shades of Grey but it's been a while since I read it--coming on five years now. I'd enjoy reading them again some time, but of course there are other books I haven't read that I'd like to as well. :P

Oh, a Jasper Fforde Yuletide story! Amazing!

That's the best/worst feeling!

I seriously cannot recommend Shades of Grey enough, though. It's like... Thursday Next crossed with The Hunger Games.
