St. James Infirmary

For those that know the White Stripes version of this song, which has also been covered by Janis Joplin and Harry Connic Jr. And was featured in the Anime Metropolis [sung by: Kimura Atsuki]... I give you One man's obsession with the tune that may date as far back as the late 1800's.

and a photo to go with it

How very interesting.

This guy is obviously not a musician himself. If he was, he might know that when we singers get stuck on something (That is to say too many brian cells destroyed by heavy alcohol abuse makes us abruptly forget lyrics mid-song), WE MAKE SHIT UP.

This is why the line in question seems to come straight outta left field. The singer either threw it in to replace forgotten lyrics, or because he was thinking of some dumb bitch he kinda wished was dead and threw an in-song potshot at her unrelated to the actual song, or for no reason whatsoever. It fuckin happens.

Talk about over-thinking shit.

I agree, although, I found his obsession interesting. As well as what he *was* able to uncover about the song given it's appearance pre-mass communications days.

I think it's really interesting, but then I love history.
