Well, there's a spot of blood on my band-aid over the area where the side of my nail ends and the finger begins. That most likely means that the seal of my nail to my skin is no longer extant, and that the loss of said nail will occur shortly. Long story short, on Friday I smashed my left thumb while closing a car door. It could have been worse; the point of impact was about halfway along the nail-covered part, thus shielding the bone to a degree and preventing a fracture, and far from the joint which may have resulted in dislocation. My Proactiv came in the mail today. I figure it can't hurt to try it, and for twenty bucks for the three-piece set (plus free gifts) it's not bad.
