For a few days in mid-June I was in Munich, Germany at a conference. Since then I've been visiting a professor at the University of Bonn. In a bit over a week I'll depart for Helsinki, Finland for another conference. Ah, memories. I had forgotten about the shopping carts! I sort of miss walking into a PennyMarkt or Aldi. It's hard enough when you speak German and have to contend with people having such difficult accents... And yes -- I've had plenty of experiences with late trains in Deutschland, but the vast majority of the time they arrived on the minute.
