oh man, that article. i adore it with every fiber of my being. or, well, it interests me because it's exactly how i feel. sobs, the whole finding-new-routes is totally me. i DO it all the time, even if it is unnecessary and dumb and a waste of my time. this is generally how i avoided the roofers while they were here ... or they still are, but they're on the opposite end and easily avoided. WAH.
i think women not telling men off in this kind of situation is less of a men > women issue, though. or at least, not in the sense that we feel we should stay quiet because it's our role to be submissive. i think most women don't say anything because they feel it might result in an unsafe altercation. i know that falls under a sub-cat of the men > women umbrella but not necessarily because we feel we should appear demure-like.
as for the music ... you suck. but i approve of you liking one. you need to like more. raaaawr.
AND THEN I realized I had more to say in reply (and OMG SORRY SPAM), but to follow up on the 4th/ridiculously long paragraph; I guess that's why I categorized it under women being submissive to men/men dominating women because even if WE don't think so, men are conditioned that way. It's why they feel they have to right to approach a woman (a stranger!) and start chatting her up. =/
(There were other comments from guys who say they can't help but look, which, you know, is fine. It's not like women don't look either. But there's a difference between looking and leering and just. If they can't tell the difference, they'd better find a girl friend and have it explained in detail to them or I don't know how they're ever going to come off as non-creepy.)
